Blogs: For Blogging, I like the concept behind squidoo.com and it is a versatile way to blog, but I have yet to master this one, so it has not been of great value to me. Blogger.com is great because it is part of the Google empire and your posts will get searched more quickly than some of the other blog sites. I am now using windows live spaces a lot because I am able to embed it into my web site and the search engines see my blogs as content on my web site. Although many people are using anonymous domains now to cut down on spam and telemarketers bugging them all the time, I feel more comfortable with someone who is not afraid of listing their contact information. Are you a "Newbie"? You finally have a web site, but you don't know what to do with it. Now you need to market and advertise to get people to see and visit your website... Five things I wish someone had told me when I first started are: 1. "Content is King" - Search Engines will only show your web site in top positions if you have great or unique content. You can find free content for your site at places like www.ezeinearticles.com (be sure to leave the authors name and copywrite info attached. Read the Terms and Conditions before you use other authors' Articles on your website) 2. "You don't have to run an expensive PPC campaign" - I lost a lot of money on PPC, because I did not know what I was doing Yet! There are a few effective ways to advertise your site that are Free and will eventually bring traffic to your site (hard work, but Free). 3. "Article and Blog Marketing are more effective than PPC when you are a beginner" - You don't have to be a writer, just write common sense articles and submit them to Free Article Submission Sites -or- Blog, Blog and Blog some more, about the theme or products on your web site.
